Our history and mission

Philip Ostrem, RPh, is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and has been a pharmacist for nearly 40 years. During his career, he developed a special interest in healthcare for the elderly. While working as a geriatric consulting pharmacist, he became aware that many clients in senior care facilities lack recommended vaccines.

Combining innovation with a sincere desire to protect the elderly from preventable disease, he created a mobile vaccine business, Rx4Prevention, in 2014.

By screening and administering vaccines, Rx4Prevention eliminates these tasks from an already-busy nursing staff and relieves families from the responsibility of  transporting loved ones to vaccine sites, such as retail pharmacies or clinics.

Rx4Prevention also provides mobile vaccine services to private businesses, such as banks, factories, and construction groups.

Rx4Prevention employs compassionate pharmacists and a small administrative staff which allows us to keep operations centralized and reach our clients quickly. 

We direct our focus on high-density communities, such as senior living centers, where the risk of disease spread is high. By vaccinating the elderly and infirm, we hope to protect many of the Midwest's most vulnerable citizens by preventing disease.

Not only does Rx4Prevention administer vaccine, but they also provide screening, recommendations, and submission of claims to third-party payers.  This frees up staff to care for patients' other needs.

Because we bring vaccines to facilities, families can be assured that their loved ones are receiving the best preventative care medicine has to offer.

Vaccines are our business. We keep abreast of changing CDC recommendations, new technologies from pharmaceutical manufacturers, and disease prevalence and other trends.
